The Cricket Centre was established in 1973 as a coaching and training centre in a large warehouse IN Albion, Brisbane.  Head coach at the time was Peter Philpott a former Australian leg spinner.

After 35 years our Albion head office and retail store has moved just 2 doors down to a more convenient retail shop frontage on the corner of Crosby Road and Dover Street.  Feel free to pop-in and check out or new modern store.

Our long history has seen many changes in the cricket world as mirrored by our own development.
In 1977 Greg Chappell joined the team whilst playing for Queensland and Australia and the centre is renamed to reflect his involvement. The annual catalogue becomes the bible to cricketers worldwide, offering the biggest selection of the biggest brands. This coupled with a team of passionate and experienced cricketers sees our reputation founded on the ability to offer expert advice and friendly efficient service on all of the latest developments in cricket equipment.

During the early 1990's the focus moved away from coaching and 'The Cricket Centre' backed by years of experience became the market leader in direct cricket retailing. Our 'Melbourne' store was opened at 43 Dudley Street through the acquisition of 'Bat & Ball'. Ian Healy was appointed a director in 1997, and was instrumental in the expansion of the business.
In 2004 The Cricket Centre was presented with the opportunity of opening a store at North Sydney Oval. Today the North Sydney oval is the venue for State one day cricket and Sydney Grade cricket.

Our fifth specialist store, and second in Brisbane was opened at 130 Compton Rd Underwood for the start of the 2005 / 2006 season. This provided the south side of Brisbane with a specialist cricket store and a viable location for customers from the Gold Coast, Ipswich and the growing southern Queensland corrider.
2007 saw The Cricket Centre on the move again this time with the relocation of the Clayton store to a customer friendly location on the Princes Highway.  Secondly the Ringwood store located at Centro Ringwood, 200 metres off the Maroondah highway offers the “Cricket Mad” Melbourne public an option in the Eastern and South Eastern suburbs due to its close proximity to the new Eastern freeway extension to Frankston.

Our continual commitment to upgrading and enhancing our website www.cricketcentre.com.au gives customers the ability to research and purchase cricket gear from anywhere in Australia or the world, with the confidence that all purchases are made in a fully secure and risk free environment.
35 years of history plus the ability to enhance modern ideas and trends has positioned the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre as a market leader stocking a huge range of the best specialist cricket equipment.
